Q. What level of skill do I need to use SiteMaker?
A. You don't need specialised skills or training to use SiteMaker, just basic IT skills. You create your website by filling in simple online forms - click here for a demonstration. You don't have to write HTML to create your web pages - SiteMaker does this for you and publishes them onto the worldwide web.
Q. Do I need to install special software on my PC?
A. Not at all, this is a web-based system - as long as you have a connection to the Internet and version 4.0 web browser (IE or Netscape Navigator) - SiteMaker takes care of the rest.
Q. What if my company wants to use its own layout, which ties in with our existing brand/identity?
A. No problem. We can create a customised layout, exclusive to your company, by arrangement.
Q. What about hosting?
A. SiteMaker includes a managed hosting service. You'll be able to access advice and guidance, as well as plenty of useful information about your website, including statistics about how your website is performing.
Q. How do the costs compare with a bespoke website?
A. A bespoke website is necessarily more expensive. For £450 (the cost of a 10-page SiteMaker site) you would be unlikely to get more than a 3 page bespoke website of reasonable quality. SiteMaker is excellent value for money; no extra costs are involved in maintenance and the price includes both hosting and search engine submission.

Q. How easy is it to maintain and update a website with SiteMaker?
A. It's very straightforward. If, for example, your organisation changed some contact details, these can be edited and published onto the worldwide web in a matter of minutes. You can also take advantage of all the Connect Support features.
Q. Once I've published my website, how do I know my target audience will find it?
A. As you create your website you can enter keywords for each page. People entering those terms into a search engine will match these search terms with the keywords you have submitted for your website.
